We are excited to announce the details of the next local rally event!
“Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment” is a national cultural event and watch-party mobilization organized by the No Kings movement and the Committee for the First Amendment (CFA).
We will join in solidarity on a local level here in Hermitage, PA and host our event during the day, before the main livestream event takes place in the evening.
Event Highlights: Special Music Guests, Speakers, Rally & March
Event Details:
Join our local Mercer County Rise Up and Sing Rally. Bring your lawn chairs, your singing voices, and your protest signs for this three-part community event.
Part 1: We will welcome special musical guests and raise our voices together in patriotic songs led by our own Good Trouble Singers. Interested in being part of the music program? If you or your small group would like to perform in addition to the group singalong, please contact Rhonda Paglia at rhondapaglia@gmail.com.
Part 2: We will hear from several local speakers.
Part 3: After the concert and speakers, participants are invited to join a rally and march along the Route 18 sidewalks with protest signs in support of defending our democracy, First Amendment rights, voting rights, and beyond.
Join us to sing along, connect with neighbors, share food and creativity, and celebrate the power we build when we come together. Whether you're a longtime organizer or brand new to the movement, you're invited to an evening of joy, inspiration, and collective action in support of democracy and freedom.
So bring your voices, lawn chairs or blankets, your signs, flags, and your joyful spirits!
We are going to sing, celebrate Flag Day, and honor our country!! As we Rise Up and Sing Out, we can also enjoy taking away some of the thunder from the felon's 80th birthday and his White House lawn fight.
In the evening, from the comfort of your home, take part in the national Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment—an uplifting celebration of music, community, and action. Hosted by the Committee for the First Amendment (CFA), this special livestream will feature an all-star lineup including Jane Fonda, Patti Smith, Bette Midler, Rufus Wainwright, Joy Reid, Wilson Cruz, Broadway Inspirational Voices, and more.
Together—locally in Mercer and nationally across the country—we will celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment, including freedom of speech, religion, the press, assembly, and protest, as well as the people power that protects them. Communities nationwide will gather for local watch parties to livestream the 90-minute concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

IMPORTANT RULES & REQUIREMENTS – PLEASE READ!
The event location is a beautiful park located behind the Hermitage City Building and the Hermitage Police Department. Many of you are familiar with this park. It’s where the annual Hermitage Arts Festival is held.
Hermitage issued us a permit to have our Rise Up, Sing Out event at the park, with these conditions:
We are respectful and good stewards of the park and the grounds. We leave no trace behind.
There is parking right by the park, but we are NOT PERMITTED to park in the Police Department parking lot!!
For those of you who can walk a distance, there is also parking at Hickory High School and the Armory.
Note: The park has a children’s playground. There may be members of the public using the park as well. We need to be mindful of them and their use of the park.
Our Safety Team will be on hand if anyone has any needs. They will be wearing their blue vests.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
